Merula Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Merula, housed in a superbly-designed, award-winning tin, is the Valdueza Estate's second oil. Pressed from a blend of the olives grown on the estate - arbequina, hojiblanca, picual and morisca - to give an oil which is always delightfully well-balanced and versatile.
Merula has a delicate yet layered aroma; sweet meadow grass and perfumed marjoram give way to a gentle almond nuttiness, with some bitterness reminiscent of hazelnut skins and a fruity apple-flesh flavour developing. Gently spicy black-pepper finish.
Soft and subtle, this oil would pair beautifully with white fish or boiled new potatoes.
