Colonna Classic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Marina Colonna's Bosco Pontoni Estate is in the Molise, where her father planted many different varieties of olive trees - some local, others bought in from regions around Italy, and now, some new and experimental.
The estate's Classic Oil is produced from Frantoio, Leccino, Peranzana, FS17, Nocellara del Belice, Itrana and Cima di Melfi olives, as well as some other experimental varieties, that combine to make a well-balanced, fruity oil.
The Classic blend has a beautifully aromatic nose, with strong green notes of sorrel and fresh-cut grass. There are interesting flavours of juniper and a buttery and slightly sweet feel at the front of the mouth, along with hints of almond which give way to a red chilli kick on the finish and a long aftertaste of bitter salad leaves.
